Turning AI Search Into a Revenue Channel for a DTC Personal Care Brand
A DTC personal care brand had built strong visibility through traditional search, but wasn’t seeing the same presence in AI-generated answers. With consumers increasingly using platforms like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude to research and discover products, the brand had an opportunity to expand its search visibility into these channels.
WITHIN’s goal was to close that gap and make AI search a stronger source of traffic and revenue for the brand.
WITHIN developed an AI search strategy that aligned the brand’s site infrastructure and content with how AI systems interpret, prioritize, and surface information.
The first priority was strengthening the site’s technical structure to make it easier for AI platforms to find, understand, and surface the brand’s products. WITHIN implemented product and FAQ schema across all product pages, organizing information like product details, ratings, and common customer questions in a format AI platforms could more easily interpret.
With that foundation in place, WITHIN rewrote FAQ content around the complex, long-tail questions consumers ask AI platforms. Each answer was clear and product-focused, making it easier for these platforms to find and reference accurate information when responding to shoppers.
Finally, WITHIN optimized internal linking across the site, connecting high-intent buying guides to priority products based on popularity and seasonality. This helped improve the visibility of high-value products while also giving AI crawlers a clearer path through the site.
WITHIN aligned the site’s technical structure and content with how AI platforms find and surface information, turning AI visibility into traffic and revenue. Over the course of a year, the brand saw a 78% increase in visibility in AI-generated answers, 83% more traffic from ChatGPT, and 33% growth in revenue attributed to AI platforms.
